We are two people recently married, embarking on this crazy adventure we call life. Sometimes we will have real adventures to share, traveling to far off places and marvelous sights... and other times we will be struggling to get through the monotony of each day. We are inviting you to come along for the ride as we figure out each other and the world around us.
Luis and I have known each other since we were 12 but did not become good friends until 13 years later. Once friends it was easy to become more and after a year of dating we got married on October 17th, 2009.
I have never been big with blogs and letting people know everything about me, but what inspired me to start this blog is the trip we are about to take. Luis and his family are originally from Guatemala and moved to the U.S. in 1991. Luis was around 5 or 6 at the time but has never been back. He still has many extended family members living there so...
Last winter, 2010-11, was the coldest and longest winter I have experienced. Ever! Well, maybe not the coldest but definitely the longest! I suffered a serious case of separation anxiety from the Sun and refused to spend the following winter the same way :)
I jokingly suggested to Luis that we go to Guatemala for the winter the following year. Luis thought it was a great idea, his parents thought it was a great idea, MY parents thought it was a great idea, and every family member in Guatemala thought it was a great idea! We then found ourselves planning a 4 month trip to Guatemala, Chile, and Argentina. Everyone asked if I would be doing a blog so...
